This is the new home of one of the oldest Western railfan sites on the web.

Begun as a tribute to the Denver & Rio Grande Western, the site has expanded to include many other railroads in the states surrounding the Four Corners.

VIDEOS NOW AVAILABLE: I am offering DVDs tailor-made for the discriminating Railfan. These 1-hour collections contain selected clips from my personal rail videos.  DVDs currently available are:

  • The Ski Train, 1994 through 2000
  • Southern Pacific Lines: Intermountain Memories

Introductory prices are $10 each, including shipping within the US (overseas add additional cost of mailing).

They are not what I would call professionally-produced or filmed, but the price is right for these historical video moments. The world of railroads has changed dramatically in the past 15 years, and here's your chance for a look back in time.

Spoiler Alert: I have acquired a better video-capture system and am working on creating better versions of these videos.

To order, send an e-mail to GRIFFINJ at ACTIONROAD dot NET and we will work out the details.  I accept Paypal, checks or money orders.

Disclaimers: Yes, there is background noise in some scenes (voices), but I've worked to avoid distractions whenever possible.  Many scenes are hand-held, but some are tripod-mounted roll-bys. Disk menus are not elegant. Some scene transitions are choppy. But I truly believe you will enjoy these videos nonetheless. And did I mention the cheap price?

I'm now on YouTube. My channel is kfgrijr.  You can watch videos of BNSF, Durango & Silverton, and San Luis & Rio Grande;  others coming soon.

I have written a book covering the entire history of the Rio Grande, published by Motorbooks Press.  To date this is the only cradle-to-grave account in print of the D&RGW.  Beautifully illustrated with 150 photographs, full of easy-to-follow historical information, it is a must-have for any student or fan of the Rio Grande.
