Here's a sampling of contemporary Union Pacific EMD motive power.
Considering the railroad has literally thousands of locomotives, it would be
exceedingly difficult to show them all, even if I had infinite time to spend
roaming the nation photographing them! However, I have shots of many
classes, and will add more as opportunity presents.

One comment: UP locomotives are constantly undergoing
renumbering, and keeping track of the changes is quite a challenge.
Don has done a very good job of it! I formerly maintained a separate
section for repainted units from predecessor / merged railroads, but I have
now moved these units into the other UP locomotive categories. I came
to realize that keeping full repaints separate was pointless in a
conglomerated system such as UP's. |
